The problem in detail
Modern AI assistants lack structured access to cloud services. They can write code, explain concepts, and reason about architecture — but the moment you need them to act on your infrastructure, they hit a wall.
Developers fill the gap with fragile glue code: hand-rolled API wrappers, bespoke auth flows, and one-off scripts that break whenever a provider ships a breaking change. Every new project means re-inventing the same plumbing.
No unified layer exists that gives both humans and AI agents a single, consistent interface to the services that power modern applications.
Why existing solutions fall short
Vendor-specific SDKs
Each provider ships its own SDK with its own auth model, error handling, and conventions. Integrating three services means learning three completely different worlds.
No AI-native interfaces
Existing APIs were designed for human developers, not for LLM tool use. There is no standard way for an AI agent to discover, authenticate with, and call cloud services safely.
Fragmented tooling
CLIs, dashboards, Terraform configs, GitHub Actions — the tools are scattered across dozens of interfaces. Orchestrating them requires context-switching and manual wiring at every step.
Architecture overview
RunVelopx follows a three-layer approach. At the bottom sit the Integrations — normalized connectors to services like Cloudflare, Vercel, Supabase, Stripe, Resend, and Sentry. In the middle, the Orchestration Layer (RunVelopx itself) handles auth, routing, rate limiting, and composition. At the top, three Access Points expose the full surface to consumers: an MCP server for AI agents, a REST API for programmatic use, and a CLI for terminal workflows.
